Learn more on Public Policy Committee.

We want to ensure that the laws being passed that affect
women-owned businesses do all they can to help, and not harm, our businesses. Therefore, the goals of the Public Policy Committee are to:
- Educate NAWBO-NYC members about federal, state and local legislation that affects their businesses.
- Track relevant legislation and voting records of federal, state, and local elected officials.
- Establish a public policy direction for NAWBO-NYC, based on the national NAWBO platform, in the areas of affordable health care insurance, corporate and government certification, procurement, taxation, and access to capital.
- Grow and expand NAWBO-NYCs sphere of influence within the NYC government by working closely with council members, the administration, and other affiliate organizations.
- Expand NAWBO-NYC's involvement and presence with NAWBO National
- Advocate for NYC WBEs at the federal level.
- Expand NAWBO-NYC's visibility in the community by establishing NAWBO-NYC as the source of knowledge for women-owned businesses in NYC.
- Design, develop and implement committee policies, procedures and structure that will provide the foundation for continued future growth

I didn't just make business contacts I made friends with whom I now do business. And my life has been enriched both personally and professionally. Want proof? In 2004, 18% of my business was the direct result of my NAWBO-NYC contacts. Through 3Q05, that figure has jumped to 58%!
