Consultants 2 Go Joins the Make Mine a $Million
Business Community to Build Million-Dollar Enterprises.

New York (October 30, 2006) — Sandi Webster, Principal of Consultants 2 Go and a long-standing NAWBO member, was one of twenty winners of the 2006 Make Mine a $Million Business program in New York City. Make Mine a $Million Business (www.makemineamillion.org) is a program of Count Me In for Women’s Economic Independence and Founding Partner OPEN from American Express®. It is the only national initiative committed to the growth needs of post-start-up, women-owned businesses with less than $1 million in annual revenues. These businesses account for 97 percent of all women-owned firms in the U.S.

Consultants 2 Go (C2G) is a consulting firm that provides marketing and analytic solutions to Fortune 500 companies in the Financial Services, Telecom and Insurance industries. They are available on a project or interim basis (such as maternity leave replacements.) C2G consultants are seasoned professionals with over ten years of experience. “It is extremely exciting to be able to deliver this award for Consultants 2 Go as well as to meet a great group of women who can collaborate by sharing ideas to grow each others business to the million dollar mark. C2G will definitely benefit from the excellent coaching and financing that is a part of this package,” said Sandi Webster.

“One million women at one million dollars in revenues by 2010 means a possible four million new jobs and $700 billion to the US economy,*” said Susan Sobbott, president, OPEN from American Express. “Make Mine a $Million Business has received an overwhelming response this year from women across the country as well as a critical mass of support from corporate America and the important backing of visionary leaders like Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. Make Mine a $Million Business is picking up steam and is looking forward to 2010 as the movement grows one woman entrepreneur at a time.”

"Women are changing America with their ideas, innovation and entrepreneurship," said Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. "Make Mine a $Million Business provides women business owners with the confidence to succeed and the resources necessary to build million dollar enterprises." “Women owned businesses dominate the small business market, and the National Association for of Women Business Owners commends OPEN from American Express and the Make Mine a $Million program for assisting these women entrepreneurs in growing their businesses,” said Melanie McEvoy, President of NAWBO-NYC. “We are proud of Sandi’s accomplishments in her business and her leadership with NAWBO-NYC. Her success is an inspiration to the members of our chapter.”

The New York awardees earned their awards after delivering business pitches to an audience of more than 1000 women entrepreneurs, judges and guests at the Make Mine a $Million Business event, which was held at the Manhattan Center. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton spoke at the event as did Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez, the Emmy-Award-winning finance guru, Suze Orman, and founder and editor-in-chief of DailyCandy, Dany Levy. Valerie Morris of CNN hosted the event, which was web-cast nationwide on SBTV.

“This is exactly what we need at the right time,” said business partner, Peggy McHale. “I think every woman business owner should apply for this program. Even if you don’t win, the procedure of getting your business ready to undergo scrutiny is certainly worth it.”

Member's Comment
NAWBO has not only been a source of business for me, but more importantly, a resource. As a graphic designer, I frequently partner up with others to complete projects for my clients. Since I joined NAWBO-NYC two years ago, I've had the pleasure of building great relationships with several members, and we have successfully completed client work together. I've found the women of NAWBO-NYC to be a wonderful and supportive sounding board for my business.
