I used to think: Join an organization, attend an event, hand out your business cards, get new business. If it were only that simple! NAWBO-NYC taught me how to have more realistic expectations about networking
.while raising my expectations about what I, as a small business woman, could achieve.
By working closely with members of the Communications Committee, where I served as the Editorial Vice Chair, I didn't just make business contactsI made friends with whom I now do business. And my life has been enriched both personally and professionally. Want proof? In 2004, 18% of my business was the direct result of my NAWBO-NYC contacts. Through 3Q05, that figure has jumped to 58%.
If youre a woman entrepreneur who means business, then NAWBO-NYC is the organization for you.

NAWBO has not only been a source of business for me, but more importantly, a resource. As a graphic designer, I frequently partner up with others to complete projects for my clients. Since I joined NAWBO-NYC two years ago, I've had the pleasure of building great relationships with several members, and we have successfully completed client work together. I've found the women of NAWBO-NYC to be a wonderful and supportive sounding board for my business.
