NAWBO-NYC EVENTS INFORMATION

Professional Development and Networking
The many compelling and diversified programs offered to members and non-members alike are the public face of NAWBO-NYC. We are dedicated to finding compelling speakers who can provide entrepreneurs with useful information that will help them grow their businesses, as well as inspire and motivate them at all points along their journey. Programs provide members and potential members a chance to meet other business owners, share ideas and network about business possibilities.

Business Luminaries Series
Our Business Luminaries features high profile speakers who stand out in their fields, speaking about their experiences, lessons learned, and imparting not only advice in their areas of expertise, but wisdom gained along the way. These events are meant to inspire and instruct business owners at any level. All programs are structured to allow for informal networking time, and some feature formalized networking opportunities.

Entrepreneur Roundtables
Entrepreneur Roundtables bring members together to “engage, encourage, and enable,” featuring expert speakers on topics such as marketing, finance, management, technology and interpersonal skills. These events are intended to be a more hands-on experience, with helpful information for the less seasoned business owner. They also provide excellent opportunities for networking and relationship building.

NAWBO-NYC’s Structured Networking Events
NAWBO-NYC’s Structured Networking Events are dinners and breakfasts designed to help you to meet your fellow NAWBO members and friends in a setting that encourages interaction. During these progressive networking meals, you'll spend each course with a different group of dynamic people so you’ll have a chance to learn about each other’s services, develop relationships, and find support and resources to help you and your business thrive. There are facilitators to structure the events and give everyone a chance to use a variety of networking tools.

NAWBO-NYC’s Special Events
NAWBO-NYC hosts several high profile special events that bring attention to the contributions of women entrepreneurs. These include the Annual Signature Awards Dinner, the Board of Directors Installation Event, and the Year-End Holiday Party and Auction. These events draw major corporations, public figures and the media.

Semi-Annual Public Policy Breakfast
Our semi-annual Public Policy Breakfast gives elected and appointed officials the opportunity to address the needs and concerns of New York City’s women business owners — an ever-growing and powerful audience which has more women-owned businesses than any other U.S. metro area.

National and International Conferences offer prestige speakers, hands-on training sessions and procurement opportunities with government agencies and leading corporations. They also provide a forum for making valuable connections for expanding your business nationally and globally.

My membership has paid off in so many ways. The three Signature Awards Programs I designed helped bring in several new clients. And my involvement with updating the current NAWBO-NYC website has generated a major project and an office space for my company.
