NAWBO and the Harlem Business Alliance (HBA) have joined forces to put the Spotlight on Harlem! Join us for a unique evening of mingling, networking, and sharing stories with NAWBO members and Harlem business owners. The evening will open with a networking reception at the Harlem Tea Room, a highly acclaimed, elegant new restaurant and pastry shop in one of Harlem’s fastest growing neighborhoods. We’ll then move on to a panel discussion of the opportunities and challenges faced by both new and established business owners in this vibrant uptown neighborhood.

Why Harlem? Few communities in America have seen the patterns of emergence, decline, and resurgence that Harlem has seen in the past 100 years. And even fewer communities have faced the challenges of stereotyping, income disparity, and gentrification that Harlem has confronted over the past few decades.

NAWBO-NYC is pleased to be reaching out to different neighborhoods to provide a well-rounded membership that reflects New York’s multi-cultured landscape. HBA is an organization that focuses on increasing the economic strength of community-based businesses like Harlem by creating opportunities to participate in new business models that foster joint ventures and alliances. Similarly, NAWBO works to promote economic development and build coalitions and affiliations among its members.

So join us at the Harlem Tea Room: sip tea, taste some delightful pastries, share experiences and walk away inspired by the stories of these Harlem businesses.

REGISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
All attendees must be registered 24 hours prior to the time and date of each event. This applies to both online and offline registration. We host our events at various locations and the venue security is often very tight. If your name is not on the door list for security clearance, we cannot guarantee that you will be admitted. Please make sure you register at least the day before each event.

Member's Comment
My membership has paid off in so many ways. The three Signature Awards Programs I designed helped bring in several new clients. And my involvement with updating the current NAWBO-NYC website has generated a major project and an office space for my company.
