SIGNATURE AWARDS COMMITTEE
The NAWBO-NYC Signature Awards celebrate and applaud the contribution women have made to the New York City business community and culture. We give awards to women who have not only used their brains, hearts and leadership qualities in achieving success, but have pioneered new rules for their success.

What We Do: The committee assumes full responsibility for planning and managing the NAWBO-NYC Signature Awards Gala in March of each year.

What We Need: The committee needs organized and detail-oriented people to handle the various arrangements, including:

• Site researchers, to help select the venue for the gala.
• Nomination and judging coordinators, to help manage selection of the judges, and the nomination procedure.
• Journal coordinators and advertising salespeople.
• Sponsorship coordinators, to work with the Corporate Partnership
• Committee in obtaining sponsorship for all aspects of this event.
• Logistics coordinators, to act as liaison between NAWBO-NYC and the nominees, the judges or the location.
• Public relationships coordinators, to work with the Public Relations and Communications committees in publicizing the awards process, from encouraging the nominations to attending the gala.
• Event coordinators to handle the details of the evening itself.
  
  

We believe in many hands making light work, so the time commitment will not be onerous. And you’ll meet some wonderful and exciting people.

When and Where We Meet: In mid-May, we begin with an Advisory Committee meeting comprised of past Signature Award winners, corporate managers, female entrepreneurs and NAWBO-NYC members, to suggest a theme and possible honoree for the Lifetime Achievement Award. We meet infrequently until January when things get into high gear, with lots of correspondence by phone and email.

Joining the committee is a wonderful opportunity to help plan and execute NAWBO-NYC’s major event of the year!
