Canfield Design Studios is a full-service graphic, Web and marketing design firm with a focus on creative collaboration. We partner with arts and non-profit organizations to help them realize wealth and abundance, and with small- to medium-sized businesses to help them increase profits through imaginative and original marketing efforts.
Founded by an award-winning musician, artist and businesswoman in 1995, our company has a first-hand understanding of the unique issues our clients face. The Swimming Paintbrush
Canfield Design Studios President, Kathy Canfield Shepard, has been creating works of art ever since she can remember. For the past 12 years, she has specialized in painting with watercolors and has created hundreds of works in this medium.
The Swimming Paintbrush was created in August 2006 as a division of Canfield Design Studios, to bring some of these artworks to you - through producing them onto note cards, prints, and eventually other products for both children and adults.
Kathy Canfield Shepard, President
Kathy Canfield Shepard created Canfield Design Studios after years spent applying her skills to increase sales for Fortune 500 and other corporate clients. She has held web design and production positions with three major web development firms.
She has also been a guest speaker on the importance of business and marketing in the arts at The Juilliard School and New York University, and has also written several articles on this subject. She has also led seminars for the Arts and Business Council, the Support Center for Nonprofit Management, and Chamber Music America.
Kathy is Chair of the Business Luminaries event for the New York City Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners. She is also a member of the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce, New York Women in Communications, The Graphic Artists Guild, Chamber Music America, the International Horn Society and numerous business networking organizations.
She has enjoyed a successful career as a French horn player since 1985. Kathy has played with orchestras and ensembles including the Detroit Symphony, Orchestra of St. Luke's, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and with such artists as Leonard Bernstein, Frank Sinatra, Joni Mitchell, Renée Fleming and Lenny Kravitz. She has credits in over twenty Broadway shows and can be heard on recordings, film scores, radio and TV.
Canfield Shepard is also a watercolor artist with a growing market for both her fine arts and commercial works.
Canfield Shepard holds certification in multimedia interactive design from the Pratt Institute, a bachelors degree from the University of Michigan and a masters degree from The Juilliard School.
